One snowy night, by candle's light, a letter came addressed just right. Zoe opened it with glee, and read the words so joyfully. 'Dear Zoe,' wrote old Father Christmas, 'come to Lapland, don't you miss us! Meet the elves and reindeer too, Mrs Christmas waits for you.' She jumped and twirled around her room, forgetting nighttime's sleepy gloom. She packed her mittens, scarf, and hat, and dreamed of elves and this and that. Tomorrow night, the sleigh would come, to whisk her off past moon and sun. Zoe smiled and hugged her toy, her heart was full of Christmas joy.

The next night came with stars so bright, when Zoe heard a joyful sight. Bells went jingle, hooves went thump, upon her roof—a merry bump! She ran outside in her warm coat, and saw the sleigh, so grand to note. 'Climb aboard!' called Father Christmas wide, with rosy cheeks and twinkling eyes. Zoe hopped in next to him, her heart was racing, full of vim. The reindeer pawed the snowy ground, then leaped up high without a sound! Higher, higher, past the trees, they soared upon the winter breeze. Zoe laughed and waved goodbye, to home below, up in the sky.

Up they flew past silver clouds, while stars above sang out so loud. Dasher led the reindeer team, guiding through the moon's soft gleam. 'Look down there!' said Father Christmas kind, 'the whole world sleeps, so calm, so mild.' Zoe peeked below with delight, at twinkling towns in the quiet night. The wind was cold, but she felt warm, wrapped in a blanket, safe from harm. 'Are we close?' asked Zoe with a grin. 'Almost there,' he said, 'let the journey begin!' Snowflakes danced around the sleigh, as Lapland's lights began to sway.

Down they glided, soft and slow, onto fields of sparkling snow. Cottages with golden light, welcomed Zoe to the night. 'Welcome, Zoe!' elves all cheered, gathering close as the sleigh appeared. Tiny bells on pointed shoes, jingled with the merry news. 'We've waited long to meet you here!' said a small elf, drawing near. Zoe waved with a happy sound, her boots now on the frosty ground. Father Christmas took her hand, 'Welcome, dear, to elf-land!'

A cheerful elf named Jingle came, with a bow tied on his tiny frame. 'Hello, Zoe! Come with me, the workshop's just what you should see!' Inside, the hammers tap-tap-tapped, while paint and ribbons danced and wrapped. Wooden trains and dolls so neat, lined the shelves from floor to feet. 'We build all year,' said Jingle proud, 'for children's smiles, both soft and loud!' Zoe tried to paint a sled, but giggled when the paint went red. 'You're a natural!' Jingle beamed, as sawdust flew like winter's dream.

Suddenly a train zoomed past, too fast, too wild, it wouldn't last! 'Catch it, Zoe!' Jingle cried, as elves all scattered side to side. Zoe dashed and reached out quick, and caught the train with a happy click! 'Hooray!' the elves all cheered so loud, 'Our helper Zoe makes us proud!' The little train, now safe and still, sat upon the workshop sill. Father Christmas chuckled low, 'Well done, Zoe, quite a show!'

Through the snow, a cottage stood, warm with smoke from a fire of wood. Out came Mrs Christmas sweet, with cookies fresh for them to eat. 'Hello, dear Zoe, come inside! You must be cold from that long ride.' Her apron smelled of cinnamon spice, her smile alone was warm and nice. She poured warm cocoa, thick and sweet, a perfect treat for frosty feet. 'Tell me all about your day,' she said, as Zoe began to gladly say. They laughed and talked by candlelight, on this most magical winter night.

Deep within the frosty pines, stood a house with twinkling signs. Father Christmas opened wide, 'Welcome, Zoe, come inside!' A fire crackled, warm and gold, stockings hung against the cold. Shelves of letters, stacked with care, from children's wishes everywhere. 'This is where I read them all,' he said, 'each note, both big and small.' Zoe touched a letter near, 'Do you answer every year?' 'Every single one, my dear,' he smiled, his laughter warm and clear.

Outside, Dasher stomped and pawed, looking lost, a bit in awe. 'What's wrong?' asked Zoe, kneeling low. 'My bell!' he seemed to say with woe. Zoe searched the snowy ground, until a shiny bell she found! She tied it back around his neck, Dasher gave a happy check. He nuzzled close and licked her hand, the sweetest thanks from Lapland's land. 'You saved the night!' laughed Father Christmas near, 'Our Dasher's bell rings loud and clear!'

Back inside, the fire glowed bright, as elves gathered for the night. Mrs Christmas poured more treats, while Jingle danced upon his feet. Father Christmas told a tale, of Christmas magic, without fail. Zoe listened, snug and warm, safe from Lapland's frosty storm. 'One day, this magic you will share,' he said, 'with love and Christmas care.' The elves all clapped their tiny hands, as laughter rang through Lapland's lands.

The stars began to fade away, signaling the end of Zoe's stay. 'Must you go so soon?' asked Jingle small, his little voice, so soft, so small. 'I'll remember every part,' said Zoe, 'you're all forever in my heart.' Mrs Christmas hugged her tight, 'Come visit us again some night.' Father Christmas winked with cheer, 'This won't be goodbye, my dear.' The sleigh stood ready, bells a-chime, for one more magical, starlit time.

Through the sky, they flew back fast, past every star, until at last, Zoe's window came in sight, glowing warm in the quiet night. 'Goodbye, dear Zoe,' Father Christmas said, as gently he tucked her into bed. 'Thank you for the best of days,' she whispered soft, in sleepy ways. The sleigh flew off with jingling bells, as morning light began to swell. Zoe smiled, so full of cheer, remembering Lapland, always near. And every winter, bright and new, she'd dream of elves and reindeer too.
