The sun peeks in with a golden ray. Oliver jumps up, ready for the day! "Today's the zoo!" he shouts with glee, grabbing his hat so he can see. He laces his shoes, one, two, three, then skips outside, wild and free. His backpack bounces, filled with snacks, off to the zoo—no turning back!
Oliver stands before the tall zoo gates in his blue zoo-shaped hat, red t-shirt, and blue shorts, mouth open in wonder while holding a map under the morning sun.
The zoo gates loom so tall and grand, Oliver claps and takes a stand. "I wonder what I'll see today!" A parrot squawks, "Hooray, hooray!" Oliver giggles at the sound, then spins around and around. The map shows paths that twist and bend, he can't wait to see what's around each end!

A monkey swings from branch to branch, doing tricks with a funny stance. Oliver waves, "Hello up there!" The monkey tumbles without a care. It grabs a banana, peels it fast, then tosses the peel—right in the grass! Oliver laughs so loud and long, "That monkey knows a silly song!"

An elephant sprays water high, right up into the sunny sky! Oliver ducks but gets splashed too, giggling at the cool wet dew. "You're so big!" he says with cheer, the elephant flaps a floppy ear. It rumbles low, a friendly sound, Oliver's smile stretches all around.

A lion stretches, big and bold, with a mighty roar to behold! Oliver jumps, then roars back too, "ROAR!" he shouts, "like lions do!" The lion blinks with sleepy eyes, then yawns as loud as thunder skies. Oliver laughs at the funny sight, this zoo day fills him with delight!

A giraffe leans down its long neck, Oliver waves without a check. "You're taller than my house!" he grins, the giraffe's long tongue reaches and spins! It munches leaves way up so high, almost touching the bright blue sky. Oliver stands on tippy-toes tall, trying to reach—but not at all!

Penguins waddle in a silly line, sliding on ice so cold and fine. Oliver claps and shouts, "Wow, look!" One penguin trips like a funny hook! It slides right into a splashing pool, popping back up, calm and cool. Oliver wishes he could slide too, right along in that icy blue!

Oliver sits on a shady bench, munching a sandwich, not a wrench! A cheeky bird swoops down so quick, snatching a crumb with a clever trick. "Hey now, that was mine!" he laughs, watching the bird fly off in half. He shares a bite with a squirrel nearby, both of them happy under the sky.

Inside the glass, a snake curls tight, giving Oliver a wiggly fright. "Ooh, you're long!" he says with a peep, the snake just flicks its tongue and creeps. He presses close against the glass, watching the snake glide slow and pass. It's not so scary, he decides, just a slithery friend that quietly slides.

Oliver wanders, chasing a bee, then stops—where's the path? He can't see! "Oh no," he gulps, feeling small, but takes a breath and stands up tall. He spots the elephant, big and gray, "That's my landmark, this way, this way!" Following trunks and stripes he knew, soon he's back on the right zoo view.

A kind zookeeper waves him near, "Want to help feed friends right here?" Oliver nods with eyes so bright, holding out lettuce with all his might. The giraffe crunches, the lion purrs, everyone gets what each prefers. "You did great!" the zookeeper cheers, Oliver beams from ear to ear!

The sun dips low, the day grows dim, Oliver waves to each animal friend. "Goodbye, giraffe! Goodbye, big cat!" He tips his zoo-shaped little hat. He hugs his backpack, tired but glad, thinking of the fun that he had. "Best day ever!" Oliver cheers, already planning next year's ideas!
