Smudgie sits on a bed, cute bright green eyes looking at you
We have a cat called Smudgie She’s black from head to toe Her eyes are big and bright bright green And she loves to hunt geckos We found her as a kitten She was skinny and so small But once she had some kitty food She grew up nice and tall
In the living room, afternoon light, SMudgie sits underneath the couch ready to pounce on a ball of wool
Her fur is black, her paws are black Her tail is black as night And when she jumps out from the shadows We get a big big fright! Now Smudgie is a little black cat But sometimes acts a little crazy That’s because her cat brain Often goes all hazy
Smudgie is up a tree looking down on us, the tree has green leaves and some flowers
She runs around the living room Bounces like a frog So now she has the nickname Smudgie the CatDog! She follows us around the garden Comes when she is called Sometimes sits when she is told Sometimes not at all
Kitchen, backlighting, Smudgie sits by her food bowl looking up with big eyes waiting for a snack.
Her favourite food is roast chicken She eats a lot for a cat And when she’s in a happy mood She loves a little pat
A living room carpet, afternoon glow, Smudgie lying on her back playing with a ball of colourful wool
A little glove slips from the hallway shelf. "Rescue mission!" Smudgie mews, whiskers twitching. She carefully picks it up and trots homeward. On the rug, she drops it and pats proudly.
At a moonlit window in the dark living room, Smudgie faces her own reflection, both mirroring brave wide-eyed stares while night shadows frame the scene.
Smudgie meets her window reflection at night. "Woof-meow?" she tries, then giggles with purrs. The reflection copies, and they practice brave faces. "We guard this house," she whispers to herself.
Indoor lounge lit by grey morning rain through windows; cushions scattered, Smudgie leaps mid-air toward a crinkled paper ball, soft paws outstretched for an indoor fetch victory.
Rain taps windows as Smudgie finds a paper ball. "Indoor fetch!" she cheers, springing across cushions. She skids, boops it, and catches with soft paws. "Proud CatDog," she purrs, hugging the crinkly prize.
Moonlight streams across the kitchen floor, highlighting Smudgie standing alert beside the back door, ears perked and nose lifted toward a barely heard creak in the quiet night house.
Moonlight paints paths on the kitchen floor. "All clear," Smudgie murmurs, ears perked high. A soft creak whispers; she stands brave and tall. After a careful sniff, she curls beside the door.
Laundry room, bright afternoon overhead light; Smudgie tugs a stray sock from an overfilled basket then sits proudly on the entrance mat, prize folded between black paws.
A laundry basket waits as a sock peeks out. "Delivery time!" she chirps, tugging the runaway. She carries it to the mat and sits. "Best helper cat-dog," she hums, tail thumping.
Toy corner of the living room under warm lamplight; Smudgie gently taps a tiny silver bell resting among scattered playthings, then sits motionless, expectant green eyes fixed forward.
Smudgie finds a tiny bell by the toys. "Ding for treats," she decides, tapping gently. Ding! She taps again, then sits as trained. "Patient CatDog waits," she purrs, proud and polite.
Morning sunlight pours through the front window; Smudgie perches on the sill, tail flicking like a wag, tracking bustling street traffic before hopping down to resume her vigilant indoor patrol.
Morning streets bustle beyond the glass. "I guard and wave," Smudgie chirps, tail waggy. She tracks passing wheels, then returns to patrol. "Curious, cuddly, brave," she sings, trotting her rounds.
Evening living room, soft lamp glow and deep shadows; Smudgie curls into a tight, contented spiral on a cushioned armchair, bright green eyes half-open like friendly lanterns guarding the quiet house.
After adventures, Smudgie cuddles into a cozy curl. "I’m me," she purrs, "cat and dog in one." Her green eyes shimmer like friendly lanterns. The house feels safe, loved, and perfectly Smudgie.
