Mia loved cats, but her drawings always looked like scribbles. She tossed her pencil down. 'This is too hard!' she groaned. Then she spotted a little book titled step by step drawings. She flipped it open and gasped. Circles, triangles, and lines turned into a cat, right before her eyes! 'Maybe I can do this,' Mia whispered. She grabbed her pencil, took a deep breath, and drew one small circle. It was the very first step.

Following the book, Mia drew a circle for the head. Then two triangles became pointy ears. 'Look at that!' she giggled. Next came an oval body below the head. She added four short lines for legs. Step by step, the shapes turned into something special. 'It's starting to look like a cat!' Mia cheered, wiggling in her chair. She turned the page to see what came next, excited for more steps.

The book showed tiny dots for a nose and two round eyes. Mia carefully copied each mark. Then came the fun part: long curly whiskers! She drew three lines on each cheek, giggling as they looked silly and cute. A swishy tail curled behind the body. 'Almost done!' she said, bouncing with excitement. Just a few more lines, and her cat would be complete. Mia could hardly wait to see it finished.

Mia added the last swirl to the tail and put down her pencil. She held up her paper and smiled wide. There, staring back at her, was a fluffy, whiskered cat! 'I actually did it!' she cheered, spinning in her chair. Drawing wasn't so scary after all, not when she took it one simple step at a time. Mia turned to a fresh page, ready to try a puppy next!
