Doug found an old cookbook in a wooden box. Inside was his grandmother's recipe for Brewed Mushrooms. "Ruby come see this!" he called to his daughter. Ruby ran over, eyes wide. "Can we make it, Dad?" Doug smiled. "It's our family recipe, passed down for years. Let's cook it together." Ruby clapped her hands happily, ready for their yummy adventure.

Doug and Ruby walked to the garden to pick mushrooms. "These gold tops look perfect," said Doug. Ruby gently plucked mushrooms into a basket. "Grandma used to pick these too," Doug said with a smile. Ruby grinned. "I want to learn everything!" They gathered shrooms and hurried home, excited to start brewing their special family dish together.

In the kitchen, Doug read the recipe aloud. "Add mushrooms, and a splash of water ." Ruby stirred the pot carefully. Suddenly, bubbles popped everywhere! "Uh oh, too much water!” Doug laughed. They added more mushrooms to fix it. The kitchen smelled wonderful. "It's working!" Ruby cheered, watching the pot bubble happily on the stove.

At dinner, Doug and Ruby tasted the Brewed Mushrooms. "It tastes just like Grandma's!" Doug said proudly. Ruby smiled big. "Someday I'll teach my kids too!" Doug hugged her tight. Together they wrote a note in the recipe book: "Made with love by Doug and Ruby.”Their family recipe would live on, memory by memory, meal by meal.
