Mia found a golden sunflower in her garden. Sunny the Sunflower smiled and said, "Want to learn about leaves?" Mia nodded happily. Sunny pointed to her big green leaf. "This flat part is the blade, this line is the stem, and these thin lines are veins that carry water," she explained. Mia gently touched the leaf's smooth edge, excited to explore more of the plant kingdom.
The next day, Mia in her yellow sundress watches sunlight sparkle on round, spiky, and heart-shaped leaves. Sunny explains photosynthesis, and Mia’s face glows with amazement as she learns about chlorophyll.
The next day, Sunny showed Mia different leaves—round, spiky, and heart-shaped. "Every plant makes its own food," Sunny said. "We use sunlight, water, and air to make food in a process called photosynthesis." Mia watched sunlight sparkle on the leaves. "Inside, tiny green parts called chlorophyll capture the sun's energy," Sunny added. "That energy turns water and air into sugar, and releases oxygen for you to breathe!" Mia grinned, amazed that leaves were like tiny food factories.
Ruby the Rabbit hops near Mia in her yellow sundress, nibbling a clover leaf. Sunny explains how plants use food, and Mia laughs as Ruby munches happily, enjoying the energy from the leaves.
While Mia and Sunny talked, Ruby the Rabbit hopped by, nibbling clover. "Plants use their food to grow tall, make flowers, and store extra sugar in roots and seeds," Sunny said. "But animals like Ruby can't make their own food. They eat plants to get energy!" Ruby munched happily on a leaf. "Yum! Leaves give me energy to hop and play," Ruby said. Mia laughed, realizing plants feed the whole garden, from roots to rabbits.
From the bushes, Felix the Fox peeks at Ruby eating grass while Mia in her yellow sundress watches. Sunny explains the food chain, and Ruby hops away giggling. Mia waves goodbye, smiling at the connected plant kingdom.
Just then, Felix the Fox peeked from the bushes, watching Ruby nibble grass. "This is a food chain!" Sunny explained. "The sun gives me energy to grow. Ruby eats my leaves for energy. Then Felix might eat Ruby to get energy too!" Ruby hopped away quickly, giggling. Mia smiled, understanding how sunlight, plants, and animals were all connected. "The plant kingdom feeds everyone," she said, waving goodbye to her new leafy friend.
