Marcus zoomed onto the playground wearing his red cape and shiny hero badge. 'I'm Captain Kindness!' he said with a grin. Andria giggled. 'A hero at our school?' she asked. 'Every kid can be a hero,' Marcus said. 'This week is Red Ribbon Week! We learn to stand up, speak up, and stay healthy and strong!' Andria smiled wide. She wanted to be a hero too.

At recess, a classmate held out a shiny wrapped candy. 'Try this! I don't know what it is, but it looks fun,' he said. Andria paused. She remembered Marcus's words. 'No thank you,' she said bravely. 'I don't know what that is, so I won't eat it.' Marcus cheered. 'That's being a hero! Speaking up keeps you safe and strong.' Andria beamed with pride.

Later, Andria saw a boy stuck on the monkey bars, scared to let go. 'I'll help!' she said, reaching out her hand. Marcus swooped in too, holding steady. 'Teamwork makes heroes stronger!' he cheered. The boy smiled and hopped down safely. 'Thank you, Andria! Thank you, Captain Kindness!' Everyone clapped. Andria realized helping others felt just as brave as saying no.

At the end of the day, Marcus pinned a small red ribbon badge on Andria's shirt. 'You stood up, spoke up, and helped a friend. That makes you a hero too!' he said. Andria grinned brightly. 'Being a hero means making good choices,' she said. Together they raised their hands high. 'Heroes stand up! Heroes speak up! Heroes stay strong!' they cheered across the playground.
