Cam the Flamingo loved football. Every Saturday, he cuddled next to Dad, watching games on TV. "Someday, I'll play too," Cam said, smiling at the screen. Dad ruffled his feathers and said, "I bet you will, Cam. You just need to find your kick." One day, a letter arrived. The Florida Palms football team was looking for new players! Cam's heart pounded with excitement. Tryouts were tomorrow!

At tryouts, Cam met Coach Hip, who had a whistle and a clipboard full of players. "Welcome, Cam!" said Coach Hip. Charlie Cheetah, Eric Elephant, and Larry Lion waved from the field, all wearing coconut helmets and green jerseys. "Let's see what position suits you," said Coach Hip. Cam put on his own coconut helmet and green jersey. He felt nervous but excited. "I'm ready to try!" Cam said bravely.

Cam tried running with the ball, but Eric Elephant was faster. He tried catching passes, but Larry Lion caught every one first. He tried blocking, but Charlie Cheetah zoomed past him easily. Cam felt discouraged. "Maybe I'm not meant to play," he sighed. Coach Hip knelt beside him. "Every player has a special spot, Cam. Let's try one more thing," he said, pointing to the goalpost.

Coach Hip placed the ball on a tee. "Give it your best kick!" Cam ran up and swung his long leg—THWACK! The ball soared through the goalposts. "That's amazing!" cheered Charlie, Eric, and Larry. Coach Hip grinned. "You found your kick, Cam!" From the stands, Dad clapped proudly in his Florida Palms cap. Cam smiled wide. He wasn't the fastest or strongest, but he was the best kicker on the Florida Palms!
