Olive pressed her nose to the window. Big white flakes drifted down from the sky. "Snow! Snow!" she cheered. Mom smiled and wrapped her in a cozy scarf. "It's December, Olive. Time to celebrate!" Dad laughed and opened the door. Olive ran outside, catching flakes on her tongue. The whole yard sparkled like sugar.

Dad carried a tall green tree inside. Olive clapped her hands with glee. "Can I help?" she asked. Mom handed her a shiny red ball. Olive hung it carefully on a branch. Dad lifted her up for the top ones. Soon the tree twinkled with color. "It's beautiful," Olive whispered happily.

Olive sat at the table with scissors and paper. Mom folded a square into a tiny triangle. "Snip here," she showed Olive gently. Olive cut tiny shapes with careful hands. When she unfolded it, a snowflake appeared! "It's just like outside!" Olive gasped. They taped snowflakes all along the window glass.

Flour dusted the kitchen like snow. Olive stirred the bowl with Mom. "Can I add sprinkles?" she asked eagerly. Dad cut stars from the dough. Olive pressed tiny candies on top. The oven filled the house with sweetness. When cookies cooled, Olive took the first warm bite.

Olive held a crayon tightly. "Dear Santa," Mom wrote as Olive spoke. "I want hugs and cookies for everyone," Olive said. Dad smiled at her kind wish. They drew a little reindeer at the bottom. Olive sealed the letter with a sticker. "Will he really read it?" she wondered aloud.

Sweet gingerbread walls stood on the table. Olive squeezed icing like glue. "This is the chimney," Dad said, placing a candy piece. Olive added gumdrops along the roof. Mom hummed a cheerful tune nearby. The little house sparkled with sugar snow. "It's the best house ever," Olive declared proudly.

Night came early and cold outside. Mom lit a small candle gently. "This shows the way home," she explained. Olive watched the flame flicker softly. "Like a tiny star," she whispered. Dad wrapped a blanket around her shoulders. Together they watched the glowing light.

Clay dough sat waiting on the table. Olive pressed her small hand into it. "Look, my handprint!" she giggled with joy. Mom painted it a cheerful red. Dad poked a tiny hole on top. They hung it high on the tree. "Now it's part of Christmas," Olive said happily.

Dad strummed a little guitar gently. Mom began to hum a carol. Olive clapped along, off the beat. "Jingle bells, jingle bells!" she sang loudly. Everyone laughed at her silly dance. The living room filled with warm sound. "Again, again!" Olive begged with a grin.

Colorful paper covered the floor like confetti. Olive smoothed ribbon with careful fingers. "This one's for Grandma," Mom said softly. Dad taped a corner that wouldn't stick. Olive added a bow on top. "It looks like a present fairy came!" she said. They stacked gifts beneath the twinkling tree.

Flames crackled warm and orange. Olive snuggled between Mom and Dad. "Read the snowman book again," she asked. Dad opened the worn little pages. Olive pointed at every picture excitedly. Mom's voice grew soft and slow. Soon Olive's eyes drifted closed happily.

Steam rose from three mugs. Olive watched marshmallows float and melt. "Careful, it's hot," Mom reminded gently. Dad blew across his own mug first. Olive took a tiny, careful sip. "Yummy!" she said with a chocolate mustache. They laughed together by the window.

A golden star waited in its box. "Who gets to place it?" Dad asked. "Me, me!" Olive shouted excitedly. Dad lifted her high above the tree. Olive set the star on top carefully. Mom clapped as lights began to glow. "Now Christmas can really begin," Olive said.

Snow piled high in the yard. Olive rolled a ball with mittens. Dad stacked it into a snowman shape. Mom brought a carrot for the nose. Olive pressed two buttons for eyes. "He needs a scarf!" she decided happily. They wrapped one around his neck together.

A little calendar hung by the door. Olive opened one tiny window each day. Inside was a small chocolate treat. "Only a few more days," Mom said. Olive counted the windows left excitedly. Dad lifted her to reach the high one. "Almost time for Christmas!" Olive cheered.

Three stockings hung in a row. Olive hung her smallest one carefully. "What goes inside?" she asked curiously. "Surprises for the morning," Dad said. Mom tucked a candy cane inside hers. Olive peeked but Mom covered her eyes. "No peeking until Christmas Day!" Mom laughed.

Snow fell softly outside the window. Olive left cookies by the fireplace. "These are for Santa," she whispered. Dad added a cup of cocoa. Mom tucked Olive into her warm bed. "Close your eyes, morning comes fast," she said. Olive giggled and snuggled deep under blankets.

Olive woke before the sun rose. "Presents! Presents!" she shouted happily. Mom and Dad rubbed sleepy eyes smiling. Together they walked to the twinkling tree. Olive tore paper off a soft gift. Inside was a fluffy teddy bear. "He's perfect," Olive said, hugging tight.

Pancakes sizzled on the warm stove. Olive helped sprinkle cinnamon on top. "Smells like Christmas," Dad said, smiling wide. Mom poured warm syrup over each plate. Olive took a big, happy bite. They shared stories about the morning's gifts. "Best breakfast ever," Olive declared with syrup lips.

Night came with sparkly paper hats. Olive wore hers a little crooked. "Let's count together," Mom said softly. "Ten, nine, eight!" they all shouted. Dad lifted Olive for the big moment. "Happy New Year!" everyone cheered loudly. Olive smiled, ready for another December soon.
