Kian came into the world in a splash—born right in the bathtub! From that very day, he never stopped moving. He crawled before other babies could sit, walked before he could crawl well, and ran before he could really walk. "Watch me go super fast!" Kian cheered, racing around the living room. His short black hair bounced with every step. He loved going fast, fast, fast, just like a tiny tornado blowing through the house, never slowing down for even a second.

Every morning, Kian zoomed out of bed before the sun was even up. He ran to breakfast, ran to get dressed, and ran out the door to play. "Slow down!" his family called, but Kian just laughed and kept zooming. One day, he zoomed so fast around the kitchen table that he bumped right into a chair and tumbled to the floor. "Oops!" Kian said, rubbing his knee. Maybe going fast all the time wasn't always the best idea.

One afternoon, Kian's family brought home a tiny surprise—a soft, wiggly puppy with floppy ears! "A puppy!" Kian shouted, zooming straight toward it. The little puppy yelped and scurried under the couch, scared of all the noise. Kian stopped running and peeked underneath. "Sorry, little guy," he whispered softly. For the first time, Kian understood that something small and new might need him to slow down instead of rushing in fast like a tornado.

Kian named the puppy Pip because he hopped like a little bouncing ball. Pip was wobbly on his short legs and still learning to walk steady. Kian knelt down slowly instead of running over. "Hi, Pip," he said in a gentle voice. Pip sniffed his hand and wagged his tail happily. Kian smiled, realizing that being quiet and calm made Pip feel safe. Maybe slowing down wasn't so bad after all, especially when a new friend needed him.

The next day, Kian tried to play fetch at super speed, zooming after the ball before Pip even moved. Pip got confused and sat down, too scared to chase. "Come on, Pip!" Kian said, frustrated. He threw the ball again, running fast as ever. Pip just whimpered and hid behind a pillow. Kian paused, frowning. "Maybe I'm going too fast for you," he said softly, starting to understand his tiny puppy had different needs than he did.

Kian decided to try something different. Instead of running, he walked slowly toward Pip, taking tiny steps one at a time. Pip lifted his head and watched curiously, no longer scared. "See, Pip? I can go slow too," Kian whispered proudly. Pip wagged his tail and trotted over to sniff Kian's shoes. Kian sat down calmly on the floor instead of jumping around. For the first time, being still felt just as fun as racing like a tornado.

Every day, Kian helped feed Pip his puppy food. At first, he poured it too fast, spilling kibble all over the floor. Pip jumped back, startled by the clattering sound. "Sorry!" Kian said, slowing his hands down carefully this time. He poured gently, watching the bowl fill bit by bit. Pip wagged happily and munched his food without fear. Kian grinned, proud that his careful, slow hands made mealtime easier and happier for his little puppy.

Kian invented a new game called Slow Roll. He rolled the ball gently across the floor instead of throwing it fast. Pip chased it happily, hopping and pouncing with joy. "This is fun too!" Kian laughed, surprised that slow games could be just as exciting as fast ones. They played Slow Roll again and again until Pip flopped down, tired and happy. Kian patted his fuzzy head softly, feeling proud of how gentle he had become.

One rainy day, Kian wanted to splash through puddles as fast as a tornado. But Pip was tiny and the puddle looked big and deep for his little legs. Kian stopped himself before jumping in. "I'll go slow for you, buddy," he said, lifting Pip gently into his arms. He carried him carefully around the edge of the puddle instead. Pip licked his cheek happily, and Kian realized that sometimes patience felt even better than speed.

Kian wanted to teach Pip how to sit. He crouched down slowly and held a treat above Pip's nose. "Sit, Pip," Kian said softly, waiting patiently without rushing. Pip wiggled, confused, and did not sit right away. Kian waited again, staying calm and still. Finally, Pip's little bottom touched the ground. "Good boy!" Kian cheered, giving him the treat. Patience, Kian learned, could teach even a wiggly puppy something new.

At bedtime, Pip whimpered softly in his little basket, unable to sleep. Kian wanted to run and grab his favorite blanket fast, but he walked quietly instead. He sat beside Pip's basket and hummed a gentle tune. Pip's eyes grew heavy, and his tiny body relaxed. "Goodnight, Pip," Kian whispered, patting him softly until he fell asleep. Kian smiled, proud that his calm, slow care had helped his puppy feel safe and sleepy.

Kian still loved zooming around like a tornado, full of energy and giggles. But now he knew when to slow down too, especially for Pip. They ran together in the yard, then rested together in the shade. "You taught me to slow down, Pip," Kian said, hugging his furry friend close. Pip licked his face happily in reply. Together, fast and slow, they had become the very best of friends.
