Maya saw the President on the news and tilted her head. "Mr Lee, what does a president even do?" she asked. Mr Lee smiled and set down his chalk. "That's a great question, Maya. Let's find out together." He pulled out a big picture book with a shiny gold star on the cover, and Maya's eyes grew wide with excitement.

"The President helps keep our whole country safe," Mr Lee explained. "They also help make important rules." Maya gasped. "That sounds like a lot!" Mr Lee nodded. "It is. The President talks with leaders from other countries too, like making new friends." Maya imagined shaking hands with people from far away lands, and she giggled at the thought.

"Let's play President for a Day," said Mr Lee, handing Maya a paper crown. Maya sat tall at her desk. "I decide... everyone gets extra recess!" she announced. Mr Lee laughed warmly. "Good choice! Presidents make choices that help people feel happy and safe." Maya puffed out her chest proudly, feeling the weight of her pretend big job.

"Being President takes courage and kindness," Mr Lee said softly. Maya thought about her small, brave choices every day. "Maybe I could be President someday!" she said. Mr Lee nodded. "With a heart like yours, you could do anything." Maya hugged her picture book tightly, dreaming of big decisions and even bigger kindness ahead.
